Fever

FEVER - Written by Carroll Bryant

Way down deep inside us all
A secret thought knocks on the wall
There's two lives that we are given
Although some of us choose only to live one

As we decide with tame or wild
We are taught to kill the child
Concentrate on money things
Aldults can only have adulthood fun

What happens then?
How close is a friend?
Boy meets girl, must have the sex
Relationships are what the heck
The fever that takes us over
Keeps us from being ourselves
And we bow

I watch with eager eyes of hope
In that our world don't go up in smoke
As everything we seem to do
Seems to prove we're still the fools

Technology plays with our minds
Criminals still commit crimes
The dollar bill can't save our souls
It's passed around like a nasty ho

The fever's running high
Just enough to get us by

Are you catching on son?
I'll give you the odds at a hundred to one
You won't win the race, son
Take it to your fate because destiny don't wait for no one

Fever burns and burns us up
Whether money, sex or drugs
We have to drive for what's at stake
When in the end we all must break

Fever burns and burns us up
Never can we get too much
We have to strive to get our fill
What we lust the most will surely kill us

It's the fever

The old man looks at his dreams
Every time he sees a teen
Set his sail, but lost at sea
I wonder where his mind could be?

We cover up our fatal tracks
Face to face and stab a back
Find our way along the trail
Live in heaven
Die in hell

Fever burns and burns us up
Whether money, sex or drugs
We have to drive for what's at stake
When in the end we all must break

Fever burns and burns us up
Never can we get too much
We have to strive to get our fill
What we lust the most will surely kill us

Fever burns fever

"Some build their castles out of fantasies. The poor go to war while the rich, they find a seat."

Where do we go from here?
Where do we go from here?

When a man is set, he finds a wife
That kind of fill isn't in a lonely mans life

Where do we go from here?
Where do we go from here?

Fever
It's that fever
Fever burns fever

New Faces, New Places

NEW FACES, NEW PLACES - Written by Carroll Bryant

New faces, new places
And here I am all tied up in love

It's early, I'm in a hurry
No time to worry about you
The clock's ticking, I'm tocking
I'm walking in a brand new pair of shoes

Some things can be so trivial
Some things just boggle the mind
Sometimes some things are such a hassle
Sometimes some things are hard to find

New faces, new places
The heart erases all of that silly stuff
New faces, new places
And here I am all tied up in love

In trouble, on the double
Blow the bubble straight out of your mouth
Stop teasing, start pleasing
Keep squeezing me like this inside your house

Some things can be so innocent
Some things just play on your mind
Sometimes some things are different
Sometimes some things are hard to climb

New faces, new places
The heart erases all of that silly stuff
New faces, new places
And here I am all tied up in love

Some things can get so personal
Some things just happen all the time
Sometimes some things are there for everyone
Sometimes some things are such a crime

Some things can get so out of touch
Some things just fall right into line
Sometimes some things are really too much
Sometimes some things are not that hard to find

New faces, new places
The heart erases all of that silly stuff
New faces, new places
And here I am all tied up in love

New faces, new places
The heart erases all of that silly stuff
New faces, new places
And here I am all tied up in love

Dead End Street

DEAD END STREET - Written by Carroll Bryant

It's our nature
To try and be clever
And then you come along
And you take it to another level
Style!
It's just in the way of your smile
It's pointless to begin to think
That you are where it ends for me

When the heart becomes the picture
That you painted with your kisses
Then the lies become the difference
And the truth is there to see
That I'm walking down a dead end street
Yes, I'm walking down a dead end street
And my love will cast a shadow
On the walls of make believe
As I'm walking down a dead end street

It's no wonder
A storm carries thunder
And then you slip away
And leave the lightening and the rain
Help!
It's just in the way that you smell
It's arguably the saddest day
When hero's hold their own parade

When the hurt becomes a weapon
That is secretly denied
Then all hope becomes a smoke screen
Another chance passes you by
And you're walking down a dead end street
Yes, you're walking down a dead end street
And your love will burn forever
On the surface of a lake
As you're walking down a dead end street

It's just not enough to know that  tomorrow is another day
It's just not the way to employ ourselves - for the pay
For the pay
Not today

When the heart becomes the picture
That you painted with your kisses
Then the lies become the teacher
And the truth is there to see
That I'm walking down a dead end street
Yes, I'm walking down a dead end street
And my love will cast a shadow
On the walls of make believe
As I'm walking down a dead end street
