Painted In You (Demo) By Carroll Bryant

For Mother's Day 2014, I finally decided to give my mother a gift she has been wanting for a while now - me singing one of my songs. While I do plan on posting Mark Reinhart's version soon, I decided to go ahead and post my demo version. I never claimed to be a singer, but at least mother likes it so that's good to know, right? Anyhow, here it is, me singing "Painted In You". (For better or worse.)

You're The Only One

YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE - Written by Carroll Bryant

As I sit and look upon a falling star
I try to figure out just who you are, babe
Maybe some day I will know but
Let's say for now girl, it doesn't really matter yet

And I know you really want a rich man
Someone you can call a daddy-o
All I got to offer is love and affection
You really got to know this, baby
That you're the only one
The only one I need
You're the only one
The only one I want
You're the only one
The only one I care for
You're the only one
The only one I love

Look at me, and tell me that you love me
Say it like you mean it for always
Hold me tight, and love me like you breathe me
Tell me that we will be forever, lady

And I know you really want a rich man
Someone you can call a daddy-o
All I got to offer is love and affection
You really ought to know this, baby
That you're the only one
The only one I need
You're the only one
The only one I want
You're the only one
The only one I care for
You're the only one
The only one I love

I know you really don't want to hear this
But I love you so
Give me all of your sweetest kisses, girl
Because I'm the one who really needs them most

And I know you really want a rich man
Someone you can call a daddy-o
All I got to offer is love and affection
You really got to know this, baby
That you're the only one
The only one I need
You're the only one
The only one I want
You're the only one
The only one I care for
You're the only one
The only one I love

Bobbie Says No

BOBBIE SAYS NO - Written by Carroll Bryant

How about a date with me, baby?
She just smiles and says not a single word
Am I your kind of homeboy?
She just turns away
Girl, have you heard?

That I have a thing for you
So let me tell you what I'd like to do
I don't lie
It be the truth

Bobbie says no, I'm not that kind of girl
I want something special, and I don't think you understand
Bobbie don't you know that you're my kind of girl?
You thrill me something special
And I'm not the kind of man you think I am

You thrill me something special, Bobbie

How about a kiss sweet lady?
She just acts like I'm not there at all
Which way you like it, baby?
She just walks away
Girl, break my heart

Yes, I have a thing for you
So let me tell you what I'd like to do
Why must you always play it cool?
Bobbie, why you playing?

Bobbie says no, I'm not that kind of girl
I want something special, and I don't think you understand
Bobbie don't you know that you're my kind of girl?
You thrill me something special
And I'm not the kind of man you think I am

You thrill me something special, Bobbie
But Bobbie says no

What am I doing wrong?
Been watching you for so long
What do I have to do to prove I really, truly love you?

You're playing it so cool, Bobbie
Play me for the fool
Walk away, don't even talk
Bobbie, you break my heart

Yes, I have a thing for you
So let me tell you what I'd like to do
Why must you always play it cool?
Bobbie, why you playing?

Bobbie says no, I'm not that kind of girl
I want something special, and I don't think you understand
Bobbie don't you know that you're my kind of girl?
You thrill me something special
And I'm not the kind of man you think I am

You thrill me something special, Bobbie
But Bobbie says no
