You Ask Me

YOU ASK ME - Written by Carroll Bryant

You ask me who she is
Her name is Lorraine and I love her
More than anyone will ever know

You ask me what she is
She's my everything and I need her
More than anyone will ever know

Maybe I am feeling too strong for her
In such a short time
But she's the one who makes me feel so good inside

You ask me where I am
I'm in heaven and I love it
Flying so high in the sky

You ask me what it is
It's something surreal and I need it
Flying so high every night

Maybe I am feeling too strong for her
In such a short time
But she's the one who keeps me so very satistfied

Wishes hanging by a thread
Rainbows dancing in my head
Visions that fill up my eyes

In a place we yearn to know
Unicorns and where flowers grow
Lost in time

Her little hand wrapped up in mine

And so now you know I'll never let her go
Unless she asks me to

I'll keep her forever to prove
That my heart is true
My heart is true
My love to prove

You asked me and so I told you the truth

The Encounter (Boy Meets Girl)

THE ENCOUNTER (BOY MEETS GIRL) - Written by Carroll Bryant

When does a man stop acting like a child?
When does a man stop being so wild?
When does a man stop going out at nights?
When does a man stop getting into fights?
When does a man stop losing self respect?
When does a man stop looking like a wreck?
When does a man stop being so cruel?
When does a man stop being so blue?

It's when boy meets girl
When boy meets girl
It's when boy meets girl

And this boy has met a girl

When does a man learn to settle down?
When does a man find out what he's found?
When does a man get what he wants?
When does a man learn about love?
When does a man gain responsibility?
When does a man really get to be?
When does a man try to do his best?
When does a man finally pass the test?

It's when boy meets girl
When boy meets girl
It's when boy meets girl

And this boy has met a girl

Life has been so eventful
Nothing to sacrifice
You're going full throttle
No time to realize that you are alone
Your love has no home
But in a summer's night
Your eyes met mine

When does a man start searching for his soul?
When does a man find a place to go?
When does a man gain prosperity?
When does a man finally believe?

It's when boy meets girl
When boy meets girl
It's when boy meets girl

And this boy has met a girl

The Midnight Train

THE MIDNIGHT TRAIN - Written by Carroll Bryant

Gave the man my ticket
Took a seat and drifted away
Woke up a little later
And found the night took the place of day

Asked the man sitting next to me
If he could give me the time
A quarter to twelve was his answer
And I still got you on my mind

Looking out of the window
Watching the falling rain
Thinking about you
Riding on the midnight train

Drank myself a cup of coffee
Crushed out my cigarette
All the love that you gave me
Was a little too much to forget

And so I'm hoping to find you
Riding on the tracks of my heart
And if and when I find you again
I'm hoping we can make a new start

And I'm looking out of the window
Watching the falling rain
Thinking so much about you
Riding on the midnight train

Dawn is slowly arriving
And the sun is making its way
Though the sun will be shinning
To me it's still just a cloudy day

Searching for an answer
Why does love have to be so hard?
Inside all of the questions
There remains another broken heart

And I was looking out of the window
Watching the falling rain
Last night I thought about you
Riding on the midnight train

Looking out of the window
Watching the falling rain
Thinking about you
Riding on the midnight
Riding on the midnight
Riding on the midnight train

Sit Down With Me

SIT DOWN WITH ME - Written by Carroll Bryant

I watched her as she stood standing in the honky tonk for a while
I flashed her a grin of mine and she flashed me a smile
I wondered to myself could she be the answer to all of my dreams?
So I tapped her on the shoulder and asked, "Would you like to sit down with me?"

She struck me as an angel lost inside the scene
Shyly she nodded her head and took the seat across from me
We started touching and holding hands and I was sweating from the heat
I was glad I asked her that question, "Would you like to sit down with me?"

Sit down with me for the remainder of the night
Sit down with me for the remainder of your life
I hope I'm not coming on too strong from a feeling I can believe
And you sure would make me happy if you would just sit down with me

The night wore on forever to a song I couldn't sing
Would we stay together, or would she ever try and leave?
A world of sweet endeavors with kisses flavored with cream
I don't think she understands why I asked her to sit down with me

Sit down with me for the remainder of the night
Sit down with me for the remainder of your life
I hope I'm not coming on too strong, but I need you can't you see?
And you sure would make me happy if you would just sit down with me

The morning brought the sunshine through the window, through the trees
A ray of hope that was clinging on the edge of the summer breeze
She walked out like it was nothing which brought me to my knees
I asked her for one final time if she would just sit down with me

Sit down with me for the remainder of the night
Sit down with me for the remainder of your life
I hope I'm not coming on too strong from a feeling I can believe
And you sure would make me happy if you would just sit down with me

And you sure would make me happy girl if you would just sit down with me

Hunted Down

HUNTED DOWN - Written by Carroll Bryant

It's chasing me now
The reckless fate of our dreams
My spirit's possessed
At least that's what it seems

Why do I always run when I'm under the gun?
Just once I would like to stand my ground!

I'm being hunted - down
Lost in my soul with nowhere to go
I'm being hunted - down
Trapped endlessly by the memory of you

Look in the sky
Can you see the falling of stars?
Never ask why
It's just the beating of my heart

My feelings are strange, and my thinking is so confused
Just once I'd like to fight my weight by the pound

I'm being hunted - down
Lost in my soul with nowhere to go
I'm being hunted - down
Trapped endlessly by the memory of you

Whispers and whisperings keeping me on my toes
The midnight wind that speaks every time it blows
I keep hearing thunder in the calmness of nights
Lightning keeps flashing right before my very eyes

Shadows are grey
The fever runs hot in my mind
Sweat on my face
Knowing that I'm running straight out of time

My knowledge of self defense
Is useless - now that my life is spinning around

I'm being hunted - down
Lost in my soul with nowhere to go
I'm being hunted - down
Trapped endlessly by the memory of you

I'm being hunted - down!

Night Stalkers

NIGHT STALKERS - Written by Carroll Bryant

As the sun goes down
Shadows walk around
Searching the midnight
Underneath the moonlight

They can't face the sunny side of life
They don't know what's wrong - what's right
What's wrong - what's right

A woman screams
Man penetrates his dreams
Another point in time
A different state of mind

They can't put a value on their soul
They don't know if they're gonna come - gonna go
Gonna come - gonna go

They're night stalkers
Roaming around with their bloodshot eyes
Night stalkers
Anything they do comes as no surprise

As the daylight comes
The zombies run
Shelter is sought
Without getting caught

They can't look reality face to face
They're just leftovers from another human race
From somewhere in outer-space

They're night stalkers
Going through life with dreams in their head
Night stalkers
Going through life like the walking dead

Spending their days just sleeping in bed

Beast of man
Just understand
It's a different world at night
It's a different kind of fight

Love isn't love until sex

As the sun goes down
Shadows walk around
Blood for an appetite
Flesh in the after-life

They can't see the truth right before their eyes
They can't think just to rationalize

They're night stalkers
Always the ones who take the blame
Night stalkers
They're the ones who feel the pain
Night stalkers
Living in sin without the shame
Night stalkers
Never the same as they change their names
Night stalkers
They're the ones always going insane

Night stalkers

Lonely Boy (Lonely Soul)

LONELY BOY (LONELY SOUL) - Written by Carroll Bryant

It seems I can remember when all I had were my real close friends
Girls just wasn't a part of my life

It might not have been the way I wanted it
It was just the way it had to be
There really wasn't a girl who wanted me

What a life, I remember
A lonely life, I still remember
Oh, such a lonely boy

Such a sad life, I remember
Boring life, I still remember
Oh, I was such a lonely boy

The years rolled by and times had to change
Especially with me, life had rearranged
Right about the time I turned seventeen

Good looking girls started looking my way
At first I didn't have that much to say
I had built a wall around me that I couldn't break

What a life, I remember
A lonely life, I still remember
Oh, such a lonely boy

Such a sad life, I remember
Boring life, I still remember
Oh, I was such a lonely boy

Since that time I guess i've had it made
So many girls I would take home
But I never fell in love with any of them

Living off of compliments all the time
It's driving me crazy, and out of my mind
Because I know that true love comes from inside the heart

It's not that I hate it all that much
But love is more than the physical touch
I guess I'm still looking for a lonely soul

I guess I still don't know which way to go

What a life, I remember
Dead dog life, I still remember
Oh, such a lonely boy

Such a sad life, I remember
Boring life, I still remember
Oh, I was such a lonely boy

I guess that I'm still searching for a lonely soul

I Want To Take You Away

I WANT TO TAKE YOU AWAY - Written by Carroll Bryant

I know that you are fond of me
I can see it in your eyes
Had a feeling come all over me
Caught me by surprise

I know you are here for summer vacation
You're going home today
Somehow I've fallen into a tough situation
I wanna take you away

I want to take you away
I want to take you away
Take you to the stars and never fade
I want to take you away

Life can be so damn well confusing
This we both know
Never in my life could I ever handle losing
And I don't want you to go

I know what is real and this is summer vacation
You're going home today
This restless heart and this tough situation
Is the price that I pay

I want to take you away
I want to take you away
Take you into a dream of fantasy
I want to take you away

Remember last night when I kissed you?
I never wanted a girl so much
Already now I miss you
Already now how I miss your touch

All I can do is scream
All I can do is dream
All I can do is tell you what you mean to me

I know you are here for summer vacation
You're going home today
Somehow I've fallen into a tough situation
I wanna take you away

I want to take you away
I want to take you away
Take you to the stars and never fade
I want to take you away

Gonna Be A Star

GONNA BE A STAR - Written by Carroll Bryant

Now I don't want you to think that I'm stuck up on me
But I carry around this feeling I'm gonna be what I want to be
Now people say I won't make it
They think I won't get very far
But they don't know just what I know
I know I'm gonna be a star

Now all my life I've been kicked around
Had some dreams buried in the ground
But this time out I'm going to turn the tables
I'm gonna turn them right around
And I read in a magazine it said, "Be who you are"
And when I know it's time for me I know I'm gonna be a star

I'm gonna be a star, oh I'm gonna be a star
I gonna have enough money in my pockets to buy me a brand new car
And I'll be the one with all the women and smoking those big cigars
Because they don't know just what I know
I know I'm gonna be a star

Now country music or rock and roll
It don't really matter to me
Writing books and songs or acting
It won't make a difference to me
All I see is my name up in lights where all of you can see
And I got so much confidence I'll make a dream into reality

I'm gonna be a star, oh I'm gonna be a star
I gonna have enough money in my pockets to buy me a brand new car
And I'll go cruising around the city just to hit every bar
Because they don't know just what I know
I know I'm gonna be a star

I'm gonna be a star, oh I'm gonna be a star
I gonna have enough money in my pockets to buy me a brand new car
And I'll be the one with all the women and smoking those big cigars
Because they don't know just what I know
I know I'm gonna be a star

Because they don't know just what the hell I know
I know I'm gonna be a star

Catch You On The Flip Side

CATCH YOU ON THE FLIP SIDE - Written by Carroll Bryant

Well they tell you that you are doing right
You volunteered to fight the good fight
Then they treat you like a no good bum
Then it gets worse when you try and run

They just can not see how you got to be free
They are just prisoners of the deep blue sea

I'll catch you on the flip side
It's time for me to take a ride
Down the highway of my life
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

Well they tell you of a better way
But they never tell you of the price you pay
Then they treat you like a bag of dirt
The longer you're in, the more it gets worse

They just can not see how you got to be free
They are just prisoners of the deep blue sea

I'll catch you on the flip side
It's time for me to take a ride
Down the highway of my life
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

Are they just lonely people?
Are they just losers of life?
Are they just lonely people?
Stuck in the same place all the time?

Are they running scared?
When the waves come crashing down
It's gonna get wet everywhere
Everywhere
Maybe they're people who just don't care

They just can not see how you got to be free
They are just prisoners of the deep blue sea

I'll catch you on the flip side
It's time for me to take a ride
Down the highway of my life
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

The Angel (Book Of My Life)

THE ANGEL ( BOOK OF MY LIFE ) - Written by Carroll Bryant

As darkness falls around an already broken heart
I can see the shadow of your face
No, you're not the blonde I've been accustomed to seeing
Oh, you are the dark haired beauty queen

You are the angel
Pretty angel
I can see you angel
Pretty angel

As I sit here dreaming of how it should be
I turn through the pages of my life
The words are not too clear
The pictures old and faded
In the book of my life

I see you angel
Pretty angel
I remember you angel
Pretty angel

No, you are not the blonde I am accustomed to seeing
Oh, you are the dark haired beauty queen
In the book of my life
In the book of my life

Pack up your dreams and send them all to me
I will try and make them to come true
Just for you ... angel
Only for you .... my angel

But now we both are free to be who we want to be
We have someone else in our lives
Are they just friends as we both claim them to be?
Oh, what do they really mean to our lives?

This is the book of my life
This is the book of our life

As darkness falls around an already broken heart
I can still see the shadow of your face

I still see you angel
Pretty angel
I remember you angel
Pretty angel
I want to be with you angel
Pretty angel
I still need you angel
Lovely angel
Still in love with you angel
Pretty angel

I still see you

Legend

LEGEND - Written by Carroll Bryant

Watch a unicorn fly
Lift up to the sky
On wings it's flying high
It's just a legend

Watch a rainbow live
Arches of colors, happiness it gives
Find the pot of gold
It's only legend

Just like you and me
We were something to see
So why can't we believe
That we were meant to be

We are legend

I watch the raindrops fall
As I think about it all
We only melted away
Like a legend

Dreams come to life at night
Lasting until the morning light
We only passed our time away
So much like a legend

Just like you and I
The love we allowed to die
Sometimes I will cry
Remembering the legend

Yes, we are now a legend

Just like the morning sun
Shinning down on everyone
Random hearts playing for fun
Running to be a legend

Just like you and me
We were something to see
So why can't we believe
That we were meant to be

Now we are legend

The fate of you and I
The fate of tears we cry
Like birds shall kiss the sky
Our legend dies

Girl Of My Dreams

GIRL OF MY DREAMS - Written by Carroll Bryant

The first time I saw you, I wanted you
Just seeing you smile means everything to me
The only thing I fear is that you don't feel the way I do
Would you like it to be the way I want it to be?

You are the girl of my dreams
And I can't get you off of my mind
It's been so hard these days it seems
Good love is so hard to find

The last time I felt this feeling, I was just a boy
Who thought that love had no meaning at all
Played with that feeling as if it was a toy
I was only setting myself up for the big fall

You are the girl of my dreams
And I can't get you off of my mind
It's been so hard these days it seems
Good love is so hard to find

Don't tell me the things that I don't want to hear
I'll only cry if you do
And don't go shouting in my ear that I'm the biggest fool
I'm not a fool
I'm not a fool
I'm just falling in love with you

And don't go saying that I'm a crazy man
I'll only die if you do
And don't start claiming that you will do the best you can to understand
I'm not a fool
No, I'm not a fool
I'm just falling in love with you

You are the girl of my dreams
And I can't get you off of my mind
It's been so hard these days it seems
Good love is so hard to find

You are the girl of my dreams
This feeling took soul control
And I don't know what it means
Could it be I love you so?

You need to know
That you're the girl .... of my dreams

Staarr

STAARR - Written by Carroll Bryant

You seem so far away
And if I had you here I would make you stay

Are you really real?
Every part of you I would like to feel

The way you look in your videos
Thrill me from head to toe
Secretly you seduce me
As I watch you on my TV screen

Staarr
You're a big time star
Staarr
You have gone so far
As to become one of my fantasies

You seem too good to touch
Every part of you I want so much

You don't even know
Who I am yet my passion grows

The way you move turns me on inside
You thrill me, and that's no lie
Secretly you seduce me
As I watch you on my TV screen

Staarr
You're a big time star
Staarr
You have gone so far
As to become one of my fantasies

You get my motor running at full speed
I can't slow down, at least that's what it seems
So tell me now what can I do?
When all I want is just to meet you

Staarr
You're a big time star
Staarr
You have gone so far
As to become one of my fantasies

The Both Of Us

THE BOTH OF US - Written by Carroll Bryant

I sit here so confused for the first time
Trying so hard to control my heart
Just to figure it out drives me out of my mind
I don't want it to end so don't tear us apart

The both of us still have a lot to learn
I know that I'm the young one
But the both of us still have a lot of love
Let's forget that I'm the young one
Even though you are older
Don't let your love for me grow colder
The both of us still needs that shoulder
Let us not forget that we're in love

I sit here so alone for the first time
That's the feeling I feel inside my heart
Just to ease my soul drives me out of my mind
Tell me something that will make me smile, don't tear us apart

The both of us still have a lot to learn
I know that I'm the young one
But the both of us still have a lot of love
Let's forget that I'm the young one
Even though you are older
Don't let your love for me grow colder
The both of us still needs that shoulder
Let us not forget that we're in love

Don't lose sight of our direction
Don't make a U turn and slip away
All it takes is love and affection
You know we're going to find our place in the sun, someday

I sit here so abused for the first time
The last time
Going out of my mind

The both of us still have a lot to learn
I know that I'm the young one
But the both of us still have a lot of love
Let's forget that I'm the young one
Even though you are older
Don't let your love for me grow colder
The both of us still needs that shoulder
Let us not forget that we're in love

It's All Right

IT'S ALL RIGHT - Written by Carroll Bryant

You call me up on the telephone
You tell me that you're all alone
You know I know what's on your mind
Because we do it all the time

I got a girl and you got a guy
What we do makes us wonder why
So why are you always so uptight?
We're just two lovers who meet in the night

It's all right - all right
It's all right - all right
It's all right - all right
It's all right - all right

It's all right

You're so confused, you're so afraid
So what is wrong with getting laid?
You act like it's such a terrible sin
It's all a game where no one wins

It's all right - all right
It's all right - all right
It's all right - all right
It's all right - all right

It's all right

You ask this question once again
How did we get in this mess we're in?
You still come over and we turn off the light
We make love in the middle of the night

It's all right - all right
It's all right - all right
It's all right - all right
It's all right - all right

It's all right

Fantsay Of A Virgin In Question

FANTASY OF A VIRGIN IN QUESTION - Written by Carroll Bryant

Look closely at what you see
Do you want to touch this fantasy?

What goes through your head night and day?
Do your fingers help to pass the time away?

Tell me, baby, what do you dream?
Should I try to take a chance, and say it's me?

You're all alone so, what do you do
In the privacy of your room?

They say you're a virgin
They say you're a virgin
They say you're a virgin
But, I don't believe them
There are no virgins

It's weighing heavy on your mind
Does reality bring you down all the time?

You're playing games, and you know that you will win
It's all the same because you know that you have sinned

Tell me, baby, what do you crave?
If not forever then a lover as a slave?

You're all alone so, what do you do
In the privacy of your room?

They say you're a virgin
They say you're a virgin
They say you're a virgin
But, I don't believe them
There are no virgins

Buttercup, you're walking through a field
Strawberry lips will kiss you on the veal

Strange and scary, what kind of girl are you
In the privacy of your room?

They say you're a virgin
They say you're a virgin
They say you're a virgin
But, I don't believe them
There are no virgins

They're Digging Your Grave

THEY'RE DIGGING YOUR GRAVE - Written by Carroll Bryant

Some say you're crazy, but they don't understand
You're not some supernatural freak, but a very intelligent man
For if knowing the truth is such a hidden sin that you have to be so banned
Then tell me friend, when will it end?
Will they crucify you like they did to the man?

They're digging your grave, David
They're going to try and put you under
They're digging your grave, David
They're going to try and put you down

Some say you're lazy, but they can't grasp the truth
You're not some Sunday afternoon loafer, just trapped inside your youth
For if wanting to be free is such a hidden hateful law that you have to be disowned
Then tell me friend, are you going to fall?
Or will they push you aside and leave you alone?

They're digging your grave, David
They're going to try and put you under
They're digging your grave, David
They're going to try and put you down

So if you need a hand
I will be around
I will be the one who will never let you down
If you find yourself so lost that you just cannot be found
I will be around
I will always be there

Some say you're crazy, but they don't understand
You're not some supernatural freak, but a very intelligent man
For if knowing the truth is such a hidden sin that you have to be disbarred
Then tell me friend, when will it end?
Will they keep trying to change the person that you are?

They're digging your grave, David
They're going to try and put you under
They're digging your grave, David
They're going to try and put you down

Sex Is Sex

SEX IS SEX - Written by Carroll Bryant

I know a side street woman
And her mind's made up
She needs a bully in her loving cup

For fifteen minutes
She will drive you crazy
With punctuation she is a lady

Sex is sexy, sex is sex
She said it
Sex is sexy, sex is sex
She said

Walking in the midnight
With her short dress on
Waiting on the corner like a working girl

For fifty dollars
She will do anything
With imagination she's the queen and you're the king

Sex is sexy, sex is sex
She said it
Sex is sexy, sex is sex
She said

Sex is sexy, sex is sex
She said it
Sex is sexy, sex is sex
She said

If she ever gets married
In which I doubt
She will show her husband what it's all about

For fifteen years
She will spend his money
After the tears, she'll find another honey with more money

Sex is sexy, sex is sex
She said it
Sex is sexy, sex is sex
She said

Sex is sexy, sex is sex
She said it
Sex is sexy, sex is sex
She said

Sex is sexy .... sex is sex
