Take away my pen
And I'm just an ordinary man
Take away my dream
And there's nothing left inside of me
You can take my soul
It's got nowhere else to go
And you can take my life
Because I have another one on the side
You can take what is left of me
Or leave my person behind
Just don't laugh when I take it back
Because you know that I'm so blind
You can try and change the course
Of my ship that sails the ocean
But don't let it get to the point
To where you'll want to change my emotion
So take away my pen
Time and time again
Who knows, you might lose
Then again - you just might win
