The Subject

THE SUBJECT - Written by Carroll Bryant

I've never felt so helpless as I know I feel right now
Dancing around the subject
Why do you hate me?
When things get so crazy you start to make me nervous
With a finger on the trigger
Why won't you debate me?
I never said I'm perfect
But close enough for comfort
I didn't challenge your authority
Only your decisions
I never said you're lonely but you do sit by yourself
I've never felt so useless as I know I am this moment
Dancing around in circles
Chasing my tail
When things get so stupid you give to me the shakes
When you drink up too much water
The dam's about to break
I never said you're perfect
Like your parents claim you are
I didn't question your intentions
Only your loyalty
I never said that I was lonely but I do pretend a lot
I've never felt so helpless as I know I feel right now
Dancing around the subject
Why do you hate me?
When things get so crazy you start to make me nervous
With a finger on the trigger
Why won't you debate me?
I never said I'm perfect
But close enough for comfort
I didn't challenge your authority
Only your decisions
I never said you're lonely but you do sit by yourself
I never said I was a winner but I do complain a lot
