True Crime

TRUE CRIME - Written by Carroll Bryant

Are you a suspect or a witness?
At this point, it's anybody's guess
I bet you got your fingerprints all on it
The investigation is ongoing

You never tell me anything anymore
It's like you took an oath of silence
Did you take my heart or did I let it go?
Is it really anybody else's business

Was it an accident or was it murder?
I see a shovel that you used to bury it
Are you willing to succumb to a polygraph?
Would you volunteer to be a part of a lineup?

You never tell me anything anymore
It's like you took an oath of silence
Did you take my heart or did I let it go?
Is it really anybody else's business

Everybody searched and they couldn't find
The evidence
To me, it still doesn't mean a thing
In the end, I believe in
Criminal justice
Even a canary will sing

Are you a suspect or a witness?
