My Own Heart

MY OWN HEART - by Carroll Bryant

I believe ... in every waking hour
I come alive from inside to outside of my dreams
And in your perfect blue eyes, I drown like I am in the sea
Drowning perhaps outside your love or inside all of your needs

I don't understand your fashion, you take everything so seriously
You pull me into your arms, I pull away to be free
Free to breathe with my own heart
Free to just believe

And I believe ... in every waking hour
You come alive from inside to outside of my dreams
And in my perfect disguise, I hide like you are watching me
Hiding perhaps outside my love or inside all of your needs

I don't understand your passion, you make everything a conspiracy
You pull me into your arms, I pull away to be free
Free to breathe with my own heart
Free to just believe

And I believe ... in every waking hour
In every fantasy
I go to sleep with my eyes wide open
Only to never see
That it's nothing like I thought it would become
Or wanted it to be

This feeling comes and goes with the wind
That blows far across the sea
And the secret lives in my own heart
Fallen hopes and fallen dreams
Stand alone and be killed
Stand alone to just be free

And I believe ... in every waking hour
In every vital moment
Racing to discover somebody's hidden treasure
Only to uncover the secret to all pleasures
And the secret lives in my own heart
So wait until i tell you
I know you won't believe it
You will even call me a liar
You pull me into your arms
I pull away to be free
Free to just believe
Free to be with you

And I believe ... in every waking hour
