The Dead Next Door

THE DEAD NEXT DOOR - Written by Carroll Bryant

Well, who the hell am I?
And what am I doing here?
When it's you that's on my mind
And it's time that I do fear

Well, I know that you are out there
And with your life and having fun
When it's true and you don't care
And I know all hope is gone

It seems to me that maybe
I don't care no more
Spend my days going crazy
Spend my nights with ... the dead next door

Well, who the hell am I?
And what did I just say?
When it's you to realize
The fool to turn the other way

Well, I know I can believe
And with my life I die
When you are all that I can't be
And I know no compromise

It seems to me that maybe
I don't try anymore
Trade my wishes for your candy
Trade my dreams ... with the dead next door

This is the afterglow where rain turns into snow
Everything that matters doesn't matter anymore
Doesn't matter that much to me

Well, who the hell am I?
And what am I doing here?
When it's you on my mind
And it's time that i do fear

Well, I know that you are out there
And with your life and having fun
When it's true that you really don't care
And I know that all hope is gone

It seems to me that maybe
I don't cry anymore
Spending my days going crazy
Spending my nights alone ... with the dead next door

Sharing my life with no one ... but the dead next door
