THE FINAL BATTLE - Written by Carroll Bryant
Why does it have to be like this?
I wish we didn't have to kill
But we fight for what is right to us
I know we always will
Raise the sword to battle your brother
Would you strike it against your mother?
For all its worth we all can agree
The final battle will end foolishly
Surviving soldiers walk away with bloodstained skin
Wounded, and smelling the stench of the dead
The memory that each of them will share
Is embedded inside of their heads
The cries
The pain
The misery
The scent of lost lives
Confused
The battle ground of the final battle
Will never again be used
