MAKE THE BED - Written by Carroll Bryant
I know that sometimes with feelings
Emotions can go stray
It's been so long since I felt any love
In the love making that we make
Sometimes it seems as if it's a touch
And every now and then inside our kiss
It's the passionate fire of our passionate desire, girl
That we used to have, that I miss
Take it all for granted? Well, maybe we do
But before I'll admit that what we have is through
Let's make the bed in which we lay
Say the words that I know we want to say
I don't want you to go so baby, won't you stay?
And help me make the bed in which we lay
If it's just a matter of some kind of doubt
Then let us find a place where we can stand
Sometimes, some things, can be turned around
Body to body, and woman to man
To know what you want and then to wonder
Is confusion that is stored away from the start
To say that it's a spell we both are under
Is to play dangerous games with the heart
Hanging on a clothes line, and wait just to dry
Isn't gonna stop the fucking tears that we cry
Let's make the bed in which we lay
Say the words that I know we want to say
I don't want you to go so baby, won't you stay?
And help me make the bed in which we lay
How many times are we gonna fight
Before we have to realize
How many fits are we gonna throw tonight
Before one of us walks out that door unsanitized
Let's make the bed in which we lay
Say the words that I know we want to say
I don't want you to go so baby, won't you stay?
And help me make the bed in which we lay
Make the bed in which we play
