Mortal Man

MORTAL MAN - Written by Carroll Bryant

You've come a long, long way to stand right where you're at
Don't turn your head from this precious fact

You hungered for a reason to taste the bitter food
Don't think that starving will help you

You can count on the work to become play
So there are things you cannot change
But there are words that you can say

Shine the light on me and take me to your land
I travel down a road that I don't understand
Shine the light on me and grace me with your hand
I am but the object of a mortal man

You sailed the seven seas in search of solid shore
Don't steer yourself into wanting more

You measured up in size the dreams that you did slay
Don't let temptation lead you astray

You can seize the hopes that you possess
So this place is such a mess
Don't think that you cannot un-bless it

Shine the light on me and take me to your land
I travel down a road that I don't understand
Shine the light on me and grace me with your hand
I am but the object of a mortal man

You can count on Jesus anyday
So there's things you cannot change
But there are things that you can say

Shine the light on me and take me to your land
I travel down a road that I don't understand
Shine the light on me and grace me with your hand
I am but the object of a mortal man
