Half Past Dead

HALF PAST DEAD - Written by Carroll Bryant

It's too early to be knocking on my door
I thought I told you
Not to come around anymore
No one ever listens to the king
They just keep on doing
Their own thing

Bring it in and gather all around
Have you seen my heart
Somewhere in the lost and found
I try so hard to stay out of the way
Still, you have to bring me inside
To instigate

You can't control what you don't own
So, get out of my head
I'm a half past dead
Yeah, you don't know what you don't know
Did you hear what I said?
I'm a half past dead

Feelings don't matter much
In the land where we never touched
This is nothing new to you
So, why does it matter now?

Love is love and not pristine
Dirty as a nightmare
Clean as an angel's dream
I don't think you're listening
To me

You can't control what you don't own
So, get out of my head
I'm a half past dead
Yeah, you don't know what you don't know
Did you hear what I said?
I'm a half past dead

It's too late to be walking
Across the floor
I thought you didn't like me much
Anymore
It's too unwise to be drinking at this time
Every hour that passes
Blows my mind

I think you're missing the point

You can't control what you don't own
So, get out of my head
I'm a half past dead
Yeah, you don't know what you don't know
Did you hear what I said?
I'm a half past dead

It's too early to be knocking ... on my door
