West Coast State Of Mind

WEST COAST STATE OF MIND - Written by Carroll Bryant

A continental breakfast in a west coast state of mind
It feels like my troubles are a million miles behind
I can’t undo the changes yet my templates are clear
The salt air keeps shouting out loud enough to hear

This place keeps on feeling more and more like home
The mere thought of leaving makes me feel alone
So what is that saying?
What message does it send?
Who ever said that a vacation ever has to end?

And no, I just can’t delete it
Miss Beverly Hills has got me defeated

Roll on Ohio, roll on down the line
Roll on down the river
Roll on with father time
I found a new woman and her heart is mine
Roll on Ohio
I’m in a west coast state of mind

Like a Mormon on a mission for good old Brigham Young
I think I found a calling for the sand, surf and sun
My spirits are lifted and my broken heart bereaved
Man, I’m gonna miss it when it comes time to leave

The girls are amazing in everything they do
Life is but living with nothing else to lose
So what am I doing?
What makes it all so hard?
Who ever said that nirvana is bad for the heart?

And no, you know I don’t mean it
Miss Santa Monica has got me depleted

Roll on Ohio, roll on down the line
Roll on down the river
Roll on with father time
I found a new woman and her heart is mine
Roll on Ohio
I’m in a west coast state of mind

From Rodeo Drive to the Hollywood Hills
Nothing but sunshine in a deep state of thrills

This place keeps on feeling more and more like home
The mere thought of leaving makes me feel alone
So what is that saying?
What message does it send?
Who ever said that a vacation ever has to end?

And no, I just can’t delete it
Miss Beverly Hills has got me defeated

Roll on Ohio, roll on down the line
Roll on down the river
Roll on with father time
I found a new woman and her heart is mine
Roll on Ohio
I’m in a west coast state of mind

Roll on Ohio, roll on down the road
The path I’ve been walking
Is getting really old
I found a new woman and I can’t deny
Roll on Ohio
I’m in a west coast state of mind

I’m in a West coast state this time
A West coast state of shine

Remember (Her Song)

REMEMBER (HER SONG) - Written by Carroll Bryant

When it rains
I can hear droplets falling down
Calling your name - again
Just the way I do when I’m not around you

Remember when we danced under the stars?
I was in your heart
And you were in my arms
And we spoke telepathically
Sharing all of our dreams
That’s the place where I long to be

When it snows
I can hear angels shivering
Shaking the cold - again
Just the way I do when I am not with you

Remember when we held hands together?
It was the summer
And you were my lover
And we touched metaphorically
Sharing our everything
That’s the place where I long to be

You’re a princess of love
I’m just a jester
This world is the kingdom
I might just be guessing here
But we - have good intentions
Love’s not an invention
It’s just a feeling I’m feeling - for you

You’re a princess of love
I’m just a jester
This world is the kingdom
I might just be guessing here
But we - live in some confusion
Love’s not an illusion
It’s just a feeling I’m feeling - for you

When it rains
I can hear droplets falling down
Calling your name - again
Just the way I do when I’m not around you

Remember when we danced under the stars?
I was in your heart
And you were in my arms
And we spoke telepathically
Sharing all of our dreams
That’s the place where I long to be

That’s the place where I’ll always be

Elephant In The Room

ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM - Written by Carroll Bryant

Elephants can fly in purgatory
Though I don’t know why
That’s just the way this nightmare goes

Sure enough you called my bluff
Now spiders crawl upside the junk
That you left behind and I can’t find my sanity

Jackals are watching me, my every move
Though I see a lazy sky
The dawn is looking blue

Sure to hell I smell the smell
You know me all too well
Like it would even matter that leaving me just leaves me flattered

And I’m sinking inside of this empty house
Chasing hallucinations and a gimpy mouse
Every step I take I feel the misery
I will name him little memory
Something more than what you left for me

Danger is as careful as danger allows
Though purgatory darkens
With every twist and turn

Damn it all you found me
Standing in the corner
Where everything you ever loved is standing there beside me

And I’m sinking inside of this empty house
Chasing hallucinations and a gimpy mouse
Every step I take I feel the misery
I will name him little memory
Something more than what you left for me

Running down a hallway that keeps warping at my feet
I know it isn’t real
I know that I am still asleep
Trying every doorknob that is locked inside itself
I know it isn’t real
It’s just a vision of my future

Damn it to hell when I can tell
That you know me all too well
Like it would even matter that leaving me just leaves me flattered

And I’m sinking inside of this empty house
Chasing hallucinations and a gimpy mouse
Every step I take I feel the misery
I will name him little memory
Something more than what you left for me

Elephants can fly in hell
