WEST COAST STATE OF MIND - Written by Carroll Bryant
A continental breakfast in a
west coast state of mind
It feels like my troubles are
a million miles behind
I can’t undo the changes yet
my templates are clear
The salt air keeps shouting
out loud enough to hear
This place keeps on feeling
more and more like home
The mere thought of leaving
makes me feel alone
So what is that saying?
What message does it send?
Who ever said that a vacation
ever has to end?
And no, I just can’t delete
it
Miss Beverly Hills has got me
defeated
Roll on Ohio, roll on down
the line
Roll on down the river
Roll on with father time
I found a new woman and her
heart is mine
Roll on Ohio
I’m in a west coast state of
mind
Like a Mormon on a mission
for good old Brigham Young
I think I found a calling for
the sand, surf and sun
My spirits are lifted and my
broken heart bereaved
Man, I’m gonna miss it when
it comes time to leave
The girls are amazing in
everything they do
Life is but living with
nothing else to lose
So what am I doing?
What makes it all so hard?
Who ever said that nirvana is
bad for the heart?
And no, you know I don’t mean
it
Miss Santa Monica has got me
depleted
Roll on Ohio, roll on down
the line
Roll on down the river
Roll on with father time
I found a new woman and her
heart is mine
Roll on Ohio
I’m in a west coast state of
mind
From Rodeo Drive to the
Hollywood Hills
Nothing but sunshine in a
deep state of thrills
This place keeps on feeling
more and more like home
The mere thought of leaving
makes me feel alone
So what is that saying?
What message does it send?
Who ever said that a vacation
ever has to end?
And no, I just can’t delete
it
Miss Beverly Hills has got me
defeated
Roll on Ohio, roll on down
the line
Roll on down the river
Roll on with father time
I found a new woman and her
heart is mine
Roll on Ohio
I’m in a west coast state of
mind
Roll on Ohio, roll on down
the road
The path I’ve been walking
Is getting really old
I found a new woman and I can’t
deny
Roll on Ohio
I’m in a west coast state of
mind
I’m in a West coast state
this time
A West coast state of shine
