Desperate Convictions

DESPERATE CONVICTIONS - Written by Carroll Bryant

She howls at the moon in vain
In the dead of the longest night
She curses his name

And nobody dares to love her
For the power in her heart is tainted
It's tainted with a hatred
And in her thoughts, he is there

And with her desperate convictions
She vows in her death to haunt him
Anywhere he is, she will be there
In the shadows
Watching and waiting

She listens to the wind in silence
In the pouring rain, she reveals a secret
To no one who is standing nowhere to hear
Her or her silent screams
That's the situation

For love isn't always the answer and
Sometimes we can trust it too much
But it doesn't always solve our problems
And with our desperate convictions
We bleed too much for someone else
To stop it, and we show it in our eyes

As tears roll down our faces but it
Won't stop the truth from knowing
That the fury of a woman
Is measured in the pain she bares
And it's worse when in the morning
No one is there

And if that's the way it is
Then it's the way that it has to be
And there isn't nothing that can change it

And it's those desperate convictions
That finds its way into a desperate heart
The soul of a lonely woman
Is the reason that love is written

And it's those desperate convictions
That leads us to the part
Where we play the fool of treason
And the moment has come to us all

Desperate convictions of many a desperate heart
And the lonely become the victims
I don't want to talk about it

Desperate convictions
Desperate are the hearts
What's the reason that love is always written?

I don't want to talk about it

And with her desperate convictions
She vows in her death to haunt him
To taunt him
In the shadows of the moon
She will be there with him
Watching and waiting

Desperate convictions
Who is the victim here?
Desperate hearts are dancing
What is the reason for it?

Desperate convictions
Everyone is the victim
Desperate measures of a desperate heart
I don't want to talk about it

In the center of all her madness
She curses his name

Never can we talk about it
