The End (Suicide In America)

THE END (SUICIDE IN AMERICA) - Written by Carroll Bryant

Alone in your room
You're stoned again
Thinking of the bad things in your life
And everybody owes you to help you get it right
To make it through the night

Well, that's the way you like to see it
And suicide's the way you want to end it
Your thoughts are blurry visions and can't be seen
Still one can see them on their television screen

You only tell them what you want them all to know
What you think it is they want to hear
You hide so deep inside of your depression
Inside your shell just like a tortoise
It's the only way that you can deal
It's the only way that you can feel
A helpless little stoner
Alone in your room

When it comes to reason, it can only be your way
And your way is the only way you can see it
And suicide is the way you choose to end it
Isn't it your way?
Don't do this to me, yourself

So goodbye to my mother and my father
Sorry if my life was such a bother
You know that I know that you don't love me
Or really need me
Look on the bright side, you don't have to feed me anymore
Maybe that explains why you tried to help me
To save me from myself
To save me from my hell

The only thing that's free is my falling
The only thing that leaves is my calling
The only thing that breathes is the truth that hides behind the lies
The only thing I leave is my own youth
And the tears that people cry
The only thing that matters is nothing anymore

So goodbye to my mother and my father
Sorry if my life was such a bother
You know that I know that you don't love me
Or really need me
Look on the bright side, you don't have to feed me anymore
Maybe that explains why you tried to help me
To save me from myself
To save me from my hell

The only thing that matters is nothing anymore
