Street Beast

STREET BEAST - Written by Carroll Bryant

Hey, old man, I see you're here again
Trying to find dinner in a garbage can

Hey, young lad, I see you got it bad
Running around again with the old man

It eats at my heart and soul
Tell me how could you let it go?
Or was it more than just giving up?
Is anybody gonna show you love?

Hey, old man, I see you're here again
Laying out your bed behind that garbage can

Hey, young lad, is this old man your dad?
You show no emotion just like him

It wears on my conscious mind
Tell me how you got lost in time
Did society take your life?
Did they steal your pride?

And in a winters night, how do you sleep?
And if you find a dime to a paper cup, which one will you keep?

To survive, what do you need?

Hey, old man, can you understand?
Holding up a sign or holding out your hand

Hey, young lad, never happy, never sad
Just going along without a master plan

And in a winters night, how do you sleep?
And if you find a dime to a paper cup, which one will you keep?

To survive, what do you need?

Street beast running the streets
What do you want and how much you need?
Street beast where you gonna sleep?
Society casts you aside and now you're on the street, beast
Like a dog in the night searching for heat
Street beast what do you eat?
Society pushed you aside and now you're living on the streets
