What Dreams Are Made Of

WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF - Written by Carroll Bryant

I searched into the morning looking far beyond the sun
I tried my love with many
In my luck I haven't one

I placed my life on pages with words I couldn't speak
I bought my time with monkeys
Throwing roses at my feet

I traveled down a highway passing not a single car
I've made uncounted wishes
On other people's star

I laid my soul before them only to be crucified
I labored in my nudity
Before their startled eyes

I took my final breath of air among the presence of your smile
Not caring for the moment
Or the truth of my denial

So how can you stand before me?
And adore me?
You should never stand there all alone
And how can you stand beside me?
Have you tried me?
You should never believe so much when you're young

I know that in life all you're searching for
Is someone you can fall in love

This is what dreams are made of

I've tasted the salt of many a girl
Lust run amuck and feelings gone astray
I've broken the laws of nature and man
So often that my mind cannot display

I crawl through the sands of unchartered time
With gods dissolution and a beaker of wine
I glare in your eyes like the moon does to space
Not looking for the beauty
But more to fuck your face

I care not for a reason as I am a witch to hear goodbye
For that's my only cursed blessing
Except that purpose of which to die

So how can you stand before me?
And adore me?
You should never stand there all alone
And how can you stand beside me?
Have you tried me?
You should never believe so much when you're young

I know that in life all you're searching for
Is someone you can fall in love

This is what dreams are made of

I've raped so many hearts
Molested so many souls
To appease the many urges inside
Not enough to let it go

I've tasted so many girls
Swallowed so many more
So much so that my love has died
My spirit has become a whore

I talked way too much and revealed everything
I live inside of my dreams when I sleep
And can only be awakened by the sound of my own scream

So many pleasures that I've lost my good trust
Such wealthy treasures that fell victim to my lust

I look over my shoulder at you as my bride
The curves on your body
The strain of my lies

To touch with such desire are castles lost in time
To savor your juices that I drink in my mind

Tis' now the moment to perform my final test
Dressed for the occasion
And then to lay in my final rest

So how can you stand before me?
And adore me?
You should never stand there all alone
And how can you stand beside me?
Have you tried me?
You should never believe so much when you're young

I know that in life all you're searching for
Is someone you can fall in love

This is what dreams are made of
