SANTA FE - Written by Carroll Bryant
Standing on the edge of the evening
Watching as the sun goes down
With the wind and I get this feeling
Lights dancing in a desert town
All by myself in Santa Fe
I was always the lucky one
Waiting out the rest of the day
And you know I don't want to escape it
I hope the stars bring me to another love
Living in the center of my own attention
Eyes are watching my every mood
Small chance in hell to gain redemption
Heart pounding wildly to their every move
All by myself in Santa Fe
I was always the lucky one
Aliens come to take me away
You know I won't escape it
I hope they take me to find another love
Life is nothing but new memories
And that's the wonder of the world
Love can forsake your chivalry
Or bring you new misery in the form of love
In the shape of a girl
And I know through all of those broken hearts
It's still an unsolved mystery
Nothing is real
Nothing is healed
And that's the magic of it all
That's the wonder of it all
That's the power of civility
Climbing up the walls of my very own illusion
Destruction is my tropical fear
Too much confusion from too many conventions
Roses are watered from everybody's tears
All by myself in Santa Fe
I was always the lucky one
Nobody wants to try and stop this pain
But I can hear somebody say
That they wish to find another love
All by myself in Santa Fe
I was always the lucky one
Waiting out the rest of the day
And you know I don't want to escape it
I hope the stars bring me to another love
