HUMAN NATURE - Written by Carroll Bryant
When I was just a little boy I would lay on my back
And look up at the sky
I would think about Earth
I would think about time
I would watch every cloud that would go passing by
I would think about love
I would think about space
I would think about the future of the human race
Why they choose to be mean or why they choose to hate
Then I started wondering if there would come a day
When maybe they would change
I cannot see it happening
After all these years gone by
Maybe it's just the human of our nature
To make each other cry
So it became I became a man only to become
A man in the machine of war
I tried to become everyone's friend
As I sailed the waters from shore to shore
I only wanted some fun under the noonday sun
And every cute girl my eyes would ever meet
True love was never there when I thought it everywhere
People were gonna be what they wanted to be
Some were mean and bent on never changing
When I thought that maybe people would change
I cannot see it happening
As hard as I would like to try
Maybe it's just the human of our nature
To watch everybody die
You can live your life for a hundred years
From beginning to end, a million tears
The saddest thing remains the same
People will never change
When I look around now and see what I see
On the internet and the news on TV
People, politicians, and our government men
Repeating the past over and over again
Marching down a road with an urge for a thrill
While setting them up for the final kill
Nothing else to do than inflict that pain
Defending their actions like the true inane
Then I have to wonder why they use a fake name
Evolution is no solution when I wonder
If it's ever gonna change
I cannot see it happening
I can't see a reason why
Maybe it's just the human of our nature
To make each other cry
I cannot see it happening
After all these years gone by
Maybe it's just the human of our nature
To watch everybody die
