LONELY PEOPLE - Written by Carroll Bryant
It's a long way from the Ritz to Cleveland Avenue
From the red carpet to a cracked sidewalk or two
Rich or poor doesn't matter anymore
Everybody hangs themselves out to dry
Lonely people all over the world
Only live to die
The liquor stores are lined up like ducks in a row
The neon signs shoot electricity through their bones
Alcohol or drugs will always be fine
Nobody clings as hard as they do to the vines
Lonely people all over the world
Only live to die
You can break it down all that you want
The truth remains what the numbers claim
You can say it's all just a fraud
Lonely people don't have a name
You can break it down like a punk
The facts will simply illuminate
Take what you learned and run
Lonely people don't want a name
There never seems to be enough time to fill the day
Personal neglect of medical health slips away
Make it or break doesn't fly anymore
Everybody works for the same piece of pie
Lonely people all over the world
Only live to die
You can break it down all that you want
The truth remains what the numbers claim
You can say it's all just a fraud
Lonely people don't have a name
You can break it down like a punk
The facts will simply illuminate
Take what you learned and run
Lonely people don't want a name
It's a long way from the Ritz to Cleveland Avenue
From the red carpet to a cracked sidewalk or two
Rich or poor doesn't matter anymore
Everybody hangs themselves out to dry
Lonely people all over the world
Only live to die
