UNCONDITIONAL LOVE - Written by Carroll Bryant
You can walk a mile in my shoes
Or take a ride inside of my head
Take in all of the sights through my eyes
Or listen to the words I have said
Happiness is what it isn't when it runs out of luck
Does anyone really ever get unconditional love?
You can draw a line in the sand
Or cross your heart and hope to die
Tell the truth like an American fool
And then fall for the biggest lie
Loneliness is what it gets when it all dries up
Maybe that's why I never got unconditional love
How my empty arms long for the fullest heart
To sweep me away with its broom
Be a witch or a bitch, it's all the same
I'll just wait right here in my room
Now my empty face can't come alive
When I know there's nothing that I can do
There's a world out there that's passing me by
Wicked to the point of shrewd
If you really mean it
And you really need it
Unconditional love could maybe save the day
If you don't abuse it
And if you never lose it
Unconditional love could clearly show you the way
How my empty arms long for the fullest heart
To sweep me away with its broom
Be a witch or a bitch, it's all the same
I'll just wait right here in my room
Now my empty face can't come alive
When I know there's nothing that I can do
There's a world out there that's passing me by
Wicked to the point of shrewd
If you really mean it
And you really need it
Unconditional love could maybe save the day
If you don't abuse it
And if you never lose it
Unconditional love could clearly show you the way
You can walk a mile in my shoes
Or take a ride inside of my head
Take in all of the sights through my eyes
Or listen to the words I have said
Happiness is what it isn't when it runs out of luck
Does anyone really ever get unconditional love?
Loneliness is what it gets when it all dries up
Maybe that's why I never got unconditional love
