Deliver Me

DELIVER ME - Written by Carroll Bryant

There’s no absolution

To a love that will never win

What is the solution?

Why must it always be a sin?

I admit, I’m impaled by the pain

A renegade in the rain

It ain’t shit, but it still feels all the same

No one is to blame

Am I the one to blame?

Deliver me from this misery

Yes, I know our history

But I’m in need

Can’t you see?

Why don’t you please just deliver me?

You’re still my confusion

Nothing can tame your style

Forgive my wordy intrusion

Nothing can blame your smile

I admit, I sustained a hefty blow

No tell, but it shows

It ain’t shit, but it feels much more than that

You’re never coming back

Are you ever coming back?

Deliver me from this misery

Yes, I know our history

But I’m in need

Can’t you see?

Why don’t you please just deliver me?

And everything I thought I knew

Contradicts itself

My life’s a living hell

And everything you said that you were about

Has no clout

I miss the clouds

There is no consolation

No prize means no peace

Sitting through this interrogation

Begging strangers for my release

I admit, I went completely insane

Fall behind, but love remains

It ain’t shit, but it seems I can recall

I must have lost it all

You must have built your wall

I stood there and watched it fall

Deliver me from this misery

Yes, I know our history

But I’m in need

Can’t you see?

Why don’t you please just find a way to believe?

And so I’m down on my knees and asking you

To believe in me

Why can’t you believe in me?

What is it that you can’t see?

Deliver me

Deliver me

Why can’t you please … deliver me?
