Desperate Hearts

DESPERATE HEARTS - Written by Carroll Bryant

Looking in my eyes, can’t you see my desperation?
Sweating all night between the sheets in a bed of perspiration
Thinking about love, and wondering how it could be
Reaching out to touch, and wishing that you were here with me

Desperate hearts, filled with desire
Burning all night by the light of the flame of the fire
Running for my life, I got to finish what I start
Holding on tight to the hopes of love with a desperate heart

Looking in your eyes, I can see that you’re screaming
Tired from the fight that you had last night with your demons
Swimming in the pain, of loves sweet misery
Calling out the name, of the one you want to meet

Desperate hearts, filled with desire
Burning all night by the light of the flame of the fire
Running for your life, you got to finish what you start
Holding on tight to the hopes of love with a desperate heart

Do you count your dreams as they pass you by?
Can you count the stars as they twinkle in the sky?
If you knew the truth could you live a lie?
No excuses ……… No reason why

Looking in our eyes, they can see all the passion
Flying on a plane that catches fire and soon it will be crashing
Maybe we’re in love, or maybe we’re both just fools
Maybe it’s enough, or maybe there’s nothing else to do

Desperate hearts, filled with desire
Burning all night by the light of the flame of the fire
Running for our lives, we got to finish what we start
Holding on tight to the hopes of love with a desperate heart

Holding on tight to the hopes of love … with a desperate heart
