Edge Of The Night

EDGE OF THE NIGHT - Written by Carroll Bryant

When you look up to the sky at night
Can you see how the stars shine?
They seem to blind me forever
Forever and ever
Looking back through borrowed time

And when the sun comes creeping upon the dark
Everything will disappear
Reality is dawning once again
Again and again
Morning is here

I'm just a man, and just like the stars
My dreams travel through space and time
There is no logical explanation for it
I just carry on
Carry on and carry on
No reason why

So soon do they say that it will be all right
You scale your thoughts to the edge of the night
You're so alone when nothing seems right
But still you shine
In somebody's eyes you still shine

The nucleus of all that is around you
Is a heart filled with endless pain
You lose concentration of what makes a fool
Here comes the rain
Let it fall, let it fall

You touch the skin of an angel in disguise
She feeds you a plate of nothing but lies
But you're not giving it up
When in love, you're in love

And so you stand tall as you fly your kite
Your dreams are still dancing on the edge of the night
You're all alone in the middle of the fight
But still you shine
In somebody's eyes you still shine

Listen to the silence, the stillness in the breeze
When all of a sudden you just feel the need
The need to let it all out, but not yet to be heard
So share your secrets in a whisper to the wind
To hell with the rest of the world

So soon do they say that it will be all right
You scale your thoughts to the edge of the night
You're so alone when nothing seems right
But still you shine
In somebody's eyes you still shine

While your dreams dance on the edge of the night
And you're all alone on the edge of the night
You still shine
In somebody's eyes you still shine
