MOMMA'S NOT TO BLAME - Written by Carroll Bryant
Momma's not to blame for my foolish behavior
Momma's not to blame for me being this way
Momma's not to blame for me never not caring
I'm the only one you can blame
I'm the only one that you can blame
I was born and raised in a gospel christian home
Momma always taught me right from wrong
My own decisions she'd let me make at my own will
I remember lectures on that topic still
But I drifted to the wrong crowd and started making a lot of noise
Momma always said that boys will be boys
Then one night I got busted and they threw my ass in jail
And to everybody I would tell
I'd tell them
Momma's not to blame for my foolish behavior
Momma's not to blame for me being this way
Momma's not to blame for me never not caring
I'm the only one you can blame
I'm the only one that you can blame
Well, I kept up with my crazy like I've always done before
I got used to hearing the slamming of a cell door
Then a question was asked to me and by no surprise
And this is what I told the warden as I looked into his eyes
I told him
Momma's not to blame for my foolish behavior
Momma's not to blame for me being this way
Momma's not to blame for me never not caring
I'm the only one you can blame
I'm the only one that you can blame
