The Mountain

THE MOUNTAIN - Written by Carroll Bryant

I was hanging on the side of a dream
When a man appeared next to me
With words of comfort and a look in his eyes
And I knew not to fear
And I knew I wasn't lonely
And my body soon came alive with energy
And he smiled
And he said
You can climb the mountain if you try
This world is like a mountain and you can climb it
You don't want to die like you're wishing deep inside
Your soul is crying
You don't really want to die

Life is like a dream in that inside we are flurried
And our eyes are blind
The meaning of it all may not be obvious
But it's there so, keep hope alive
Faith for the sad ones
Still his words I could not break away from

You can climb the mountain if you try
This world is like a mountain and you can climb it
You don't want to die like you're wishing deep inside
Your soul is crying
You don't really want to die

This man was a stranger to me and so was I
I knew his motive and prayers and I knew why
Why he had the power and gave me some conviction
And knew the truth within my heart and every mountain
Any mountain can be climbed

I was hanging on the side of a dream
When the man came down to talk to me
He gave me hope
He gave me faith
He gave me another reason to try

You can climb the mountain if you try
This world is like a mountain and you can climb it
You don't want to die like you're wishing deep inside
Your soul is crying
You don't really want to die

I will climb the mountain
I will climb the mountain
Even if I don't make it I would have tried
