In The Middle Of A Journey

IN THE MIDDLE OF A JOURNEY - Written by Carroll Bryant

Days are too long
Nights are too short
Rain will fall and fall

Through it all
I travel down my road
I heed the call

Wave goodbye to my friends
See you on my journey's end
A new life shall begin again

So you see, I'm just like you
I got a purpose too, that can only fit me
Like yours can only fit you

And everybody shares in a purpose
Everybody is aware too
Everybody here can rejoice in the knowledge
They have a job to do
Until their days are through

You journey your entire life away
Fighting to just get by
Struggling to stay alive

But time is wasting much too much away
It's all you can do to feel free
It's so hard to break those chains

I won't give up when I'm in the middle of a journey
Searching for love
Searching for freedom

I love being free
Making my own choices for myself
This life I made fits me
Not anybody else

But there are people trying to take that away
They think they know better
I'm in the middle of a journey
Trying to save the earth and earthlings
Trying to save freedom

I will survive
Or meet my demise all alone
In the middle of the night

I will cry
For the loss of freedom and of life
To the young I say
To the young I pray
To the young we gave away

I'm sorry
I'm so sorry
For fucking up your journey
If freedom was your thing
America took it away
And I'm sorry

I will cry
For the loss of freedom and of life
To the young I say
To the young I pray
To the young we gave away

We took away your freedom

I'm sorry
