One Legged Dog

ONE LEGGED DOG - Written by Carroll Bryant

Sometimes I feel so ashamed
When I see the face of the human race
An able man without a job
Society's one legged dog

Why am I so discontent?
Is it something inside of me?
A one legged dog, you see
Can't scratch away the fleas

A burden for society

We look right through them like a ghost
Their situation is what we fear the most
Temper the sadness with a dose of our insane
Close my eyes
Walk on by
Find someone to blame

Why am I so discontent?
Is it something inside of me?
A one legged dog, you see
Can't scratch away the fleas

A burden for society

Why am I so distraught?
The meaning of our nation is lost
A one legged dog, you know
Can't help our economy to grow

A burden for society

Sometimes I feel numb to the pain
Witness the true effects of the human race
Run away
Don't even walk
Turn the corner and go down a block
Run away
Don't even talk
Turn the corner and ..... one legged dog
