Monkey Shock

MONKEY SHOCK - Written by Carroll Bryant

You can’t trump what you don’t try
You can run forever from everything you deny
You don’t want what you can’t buy
You can fall to pieces with excuses and alibi’s

When your pretty world starts spinning
You always seem to lose control
You’re such a pretty girl who’s swimming
In the shallow end of your empty pool

There’s no speech
I can’t talk
Standing there scratching my head from the monkey shock
I can’t run
I can’t walk
Standing there beseeching
Stranded in the monkey shock

You can’t play with what you don’t hide
You can burn with fever from everything you have inside
You don’t touch what you can’t cry
You can feel emotions but you’re always acting so surprised

When your pretty head starts aching
You always seem to head for the hills
You’re such a Betty that you keep faking
In the deepest end of your cheapest thrills

There’s no speech
I can’t talk
Standing there scratching my head from the monkey shock
I can’t run
I can’t walk
Standing there beseeching
Stranded in the monkey shock

You can’t cook what you don’t fry
You can reach forever for anything to catch your eye
You don’t love what you can’t mind
You can fall to pieces when nothing gets sanitized

When your pretty world starts spinning
You always seem to lose control
You’re such a pretty girl who’s swimming
In the shallow end of your empty pool

There’s no speech
I can’t talk
Standing there scratching my head from the monkey shock
I can’t run
I can’t walk
Standing there beseeching
Stranded in the monkey shock

Standing there begging for your love from the monkey shock
