Dead End Street

DEAD END STREET - Written by Carroll Bryant

It's our nature
To try and be clever
And then you come along
And you take it to another level
Style!
It's just in the way of your smile
It's pointless to begin to think
That you are where it ends for me

When the heart becomes the picture
That you painted with your kisses
Then the lies become the difference
And the truth is there to see
That I'm walking down a dead end street
Yes, I'm walking down a dead end street
And my love will cast a shadow
On the walls of make believe
As I'm walking down a dead end street

It's no wonder
A storm carries thunder
And then you slip away
And leave the lightening and the rain
Help!
It's just in the way that you smell
It's arguably the saddest day
When hero's hold their own parade

When the hurt becomes a weapon
That is secretly denied
Then all hope becomes a smoke screen
Another chance passes you by
And you're walking down a dead end street
Yes, you're walking down a dead end street
And your love will burn forever
On the surface of a lake
As you're walking down a dead end street

It's just not enough to know that  tomorrow is another day
It's just not the way to employ ourselves - for the pay
For the pay
Not today

When the heart becomes the picture
That you painted with your kisses
Then the lies become the teacher
And the truth is there to see
That I'm walking down a dead end street
Yes, I'm walking down a dead end street
And my love will cast a shadow
On the walls of make believe
As I'm walking down a dead end street
