Play

PLAY - Written by Carroll Bryant

We live in luxury as little baby cries
Living out our fantasies as little baby dies
What bothers me the most is the way we walk away
Street to street across the coast
Nothing but play
And we play
And we play
Life goes on I know and sometimes that's a shame
And we play
And we play
Growing old with every breath and living day to day

We watch a building crumble as the earthquake devastates
Hugo the horrible was such a nasty wave
Texas felt the heat that blasted straight from hell
When abortion was aborted
Washington fell
And we play
And we play
On our heels or tippy-toes and dancing so gay
And we play
And we play
Doing nothing much no more with even less for us to say

Ring around the rosey and we all fall down
Hearts grow in the gutter
No roots in the ground

Ring around the rosey and we all fall down

What bothers me the most is the way we inflict pain
Street to street across the coast
Nothing but play
And we play
And we play
Time marches on I know and sometimes it's okay
And we play
And we play
Growing old with every breath and living day to day
And we play
And we play
Life goes on I know and sometimes that's a shame
And we play
And we play
Right up to the very end of another busy day

And we play
