WANTS (NOT WHAT YOU NEED) - Written by Carroll Bryant
I saw the lightening
I heard the thunder
I saw you standing there
I sat and wondered
"It must be now!" My soul was screaming
Pinch me quick someone, I - I must be dreaming
It went by oh, so fast, but God, it took so fucking long
It should've lasted forever so how did it go so fucking wrong?
All I ever wanted was somebody to love me
All I ever wanted was somebody to love
All I ever wanted was somebody to save me
Forgive me if I wanted too much
I'm sorry love wasn't enough
A gift from heaven
A curse from hell
What did it matter?
How could we tell?
All that was spoken was a mouthful of lies
Now we know what happens when two fools collide
Was sex such a nasty word?
I know I wanted you, but all I got was hurt
I feel it now
All I ever wanted was somebody to love me
All I ever wanted was somebody to love
All I ever wanted was somebody to save me
Forgive me if I wanted too much
I'm sorry love wasn't enough
Here I go again
Looking at the girl sleeping next to me
And yes, maybe I got her but
She isn't what I wanted or need
And I know you won't believe it
But so help me god it's true
Sometimes when I look down at her
I could swear I'm looking down at you
There's nothing I can do
Pick up the pieces
I guess I'll try
I won't forget you
At least until I die
Who is to blame? We both get the credit
To slip away, how did we let it?
Was sex such a horrible word?
How can I tell you how much this hurts?
It really fucking hurts
All I ever wanted was somebody to love me
All I ever wanted was somebody to love
All I ever wanted was somebody to save me
Forgive me if I wanted too much
I'm sorry love wasn't enough
I feel it now
