IT NEVER GETS EASY - Written by Carroll Bryant
You wake up, it's morning
The world comes alive
It takes you forever to open up your eyes
You're making a living the best way you can
Just to survive in a material land
And it never gets easy
Sometimes you're so confused
Your body is aching when the working day is through
And it never gets easy
Will things ever change?
You can't stand the moment
You can't stand the pain
Ever so busy and doing it well
You talk about the future but anyone can tell
You're trapped inside your visions of lost identity
Sooner or later you succumb to gravity
And it never gets easy
Sometimes you're so confused
Your body is aching when the working day is through
And it never gets easy
Will things ever change?
You can't stand the moment
You can't stand the pain
Nearing the evening you settle into bed
Your partner isn't pleasing
And green lights turn to red
You shake off the madness of years inside the rain
Sorry for tomorrow, here we go again
And it never gets easy
Sometimes you're so confused
Your body is aching when the working day is through
And it never gets easy
Will things ever change?
You can't stand the moment
You can't stand the pain
