Broken World

BROKEN WORLD - Written by Carroll Bryant

Was it really fair to just walk away?
I didn't mean to hurt you, but I did anyway

Where did we go wrong in the middle of the night?
Love was to be our blanket, but we were covered too tight

So it's goodbye to everything that we both loved
And it's goodbye to all the love songs that we both played
And it's hello to the lonely sky up above
And it's hello to the broken world that we both made
Just say goodbye
Just say goodbye

I never realized the burden of a heart
You pay a heavy price for playing the part

What was it all about if not for a perfect dream?
You get caught up in the action when you're making the scene

So it's goodbye to everything that we both loved
And it's goodbye to all the love songs that we both played
And it's hello to the lonely sky up above
And it's hello to the broken world that we both made
Just say goodbye
Just say goodbye

Leave it to me to play it straight
When we both know that it's not my style
It's never to be better when you are late
Or better late than never with a smile

"God I miss you so much. I probably didn't think this thing through. I might want to feel your touch. Then again, maybe you do too. What I wouldn't do to have you right now, by my side, in my bed. Or out of my head. Either way would do."

So it's goodbye to everything that we both loved
And it's goodbye to all the love songs that we both played
And it's hello to the lonely sky up above
And it's hello to the broken world that we both made
Just say goodbye
Just say goodbye
Just say goodbye

And try not to cry when you do
