SOMEBODY LIKE YOU - Written by Carroll Bryant
Here I am again
Stranded
In another isolated moment
Here it comes again
Thunder
The rain is falling down on me
Lost in thought
Yes, I know I've lived more in my young years
And nothing can take away the memories
My heart can't sedate the tears
And that's okay with me
But times are changing
Times have changed and you know it's true
Never needed anyone, but now I think I do
Believe me when I say this, "I'm your everlasting fool"
And I do believe I need you
Or somebody like you
Life is but a poppy thief
That enjoys stealing from the hands of time
Pleasure is the feeling when I'm naked with you
I guess the pleasure is really all mine
The road of life is uncertain
It can lead you astray every single day
It will leave you scratching your head
If the things you love are left for dead
Nothing ever stays the same
But times are changing
Times have changed and you know it's true
Never needed anyone, but now I think I do
Believe me when I say this, "I'm your everlasting fool"
And I do believe I need you
Or somebody like you
I want you
Or somebody like you
In the darkness hides a light
A candle that may flicker
The wick it burns counts down the time
Laugh but don't you snicker
All the love in the whole wide world
Never seems to age as well as wine
One of these days you may just find out
That deep down inside you really want to be mine
Here I am again
Stranded
In another isolated moment
Growing old in a very, very cold world
Lost in thought
With rain falling down on me
Rain falling down
Here it comes again
Thunder
Could it be the end is near?
But times are changing
Times have changed and you know it's true
Never needed anyone, but now I think I do
Believe me when I say this, "I'm your everlasting fool"
And I do believe I need you
Or somebody like you
And if I cannot have you then I want
Somebody like you
