MY PERSONAL GOD - Written by Carroll Bryant
I fly through the air with my wings extended
On a flight that never ends
In my searches I have been befriended
Living in a barrel of sins
Valley's and mountains
Eating from a beggars hands
Drinking from holy fountains
Waiting for what I cannot pretend
I still can't deny
That this is my life
I traveled so far to fall from grace
Just to meet my personal god
And if I held you in my arms so tight
And made sweet love to you
Would that make everything all right?
What good would ... would that do?
Would you agree that it's never enough?
Sex surely is not love
Shaking hands with the devil tonight
Just to meet my personal god
And my journey continues
With each and every step or drink that I take
With you or without you
It all depends on how many hearts that I break
And still it's not enough
To be true
I still can't deny
That this is my life
I traveled so far to fall from grace
Just to meet my personal god
Could it be me?
Could it be you?
Can you break free?
Can you be true?
Everything amazing about you
Boils in your veins with your blood
I've been searching hell and high water
Just to meet my personal god
Would you agree that it's never enough?
Sex surely is not love
Shaking hands with the devil tonight
Just to meet my personal god
Getting ready to break my plans
For tonight
Just to meet my personal god
