CONFESSIONS OF A KILLER - Written by Carroll Bryant
It was dark
It was cool
It was breezy
There she was
All alone
It was so easy
I had the knife
In my hand
I had that feeling
The urge was strong
Inside this man
My will was willing
She went into the shadows
That was her first mistake
She stopped to say hello
She stopped to take a break
"Hello"
I grabbed her by the throat
I took my knife
I stabbed her in the soul
I took her little life
She fell to the ground
Without a sound
And now she's dead
Blood spilled forever
Painting the sidewalk in red
What did I care?
She shouldn't have been there
She laid on the ground
Making a gurgling sound
Now she's dead
And I ran and I ran and I ran to nowhere it seems
Out of my breath
Out of my feet
"I killed her!" I screamed
There I stood for hours way beyond
My intentions
Watching the crowd inside of the police lights
And their investigation
People appeared to be in such disbelief
I could hear all of their silent prayers
She was so young and too fresh to be dead meat
The beautiful daughter of the corrupted mayor
They picked her up off the ground
Crying out loud
Now she's dead
This has got to be a dream
Not a permanent thing
And a lunatic can plea
Common insanity
This couldn't happen to me
Now she's dead
It was dark
It was cool
It was an alley
There she was
Walking alone
I had that feeling
I keep losing my mind
Losing lost time
I wake up to find
Blood all over me
I keep losing my senses
It happened again
It was dark
It was cool
It was breezy
There she was
All alone
It was so easy
Why do they keep making it so damn easy?
