ONLY THE LONELY - Written by Carroll Bryant
I better watch my step
High stride
I got to get out of this mess I'm in
All I need is time
Or the look from another pair of eyes
It's not you or your un-originality
It's all about the feelings
Or the ones you no longer bring to me
Maybe we both will learn from this ordeal
Maybe we both let go of the wheel
Love no longer grows
Only the lonely would know
How that feels
Knowledge is power
Slide down
No one has the heart to explain it
Except for the man on the moon
Or a demented clown
Sometimes we're faced with choices
Tough decisions we must make
We never seem to fight for time
Blame is our favorite rhyme
Two people who never give to get what they take
Maybe we both will learn from this mess
Maybe we both took and failed the big test
Love no longer shows
Only the lonely would know
How that is
You seek revenge with the help
Of your political friends
They really want to help you
So does the man on the moon
Nobody will admit they know or that they understand
Just know that demented clown has a glove
Covering his hand
This love is far from being alive
It doesn't know what it means to live
Your second thought is to say
You want to try and persuade me to stay
But I won't stay with you
Maybe we both will learn from this ordeal
Maybe we both let go of the wheel
Love no longer grows
Only the lonely would know
How that feels
Only the lonely like me and you
