Breakaway

BREAKAWAY - Written by Carroll Bryant

Love is always pending
In a heart that’s made of stone
The messages you’re sending
Makes me feel so all alone
And there’s a contradiction
Between your mask and your disguise
The road to my perdition
Is filled with brutal nights

I can’t find remission
Of the cancer in our souls
This critical condition
Is just standing on its own
I call you on the telephone
Your voice sounds so strange
You tell me that you’re going home
It looks like nothing has changed

So you breakaway from all the things we used to be
You breakaway because you can and I believe
I can make you stay even though I hide behind this wall
Breakaway you can … no, you can’t stop this man
From crawling back to you
But that’s not what I choose

Happy ever after
Is just a children’s fairy-tale
Burning eyes of sapphire
Clearly tells the tale
And in my intuition
I see the way you are to leave
And in my full admission
I have no aces up my sleeve

So you breakaway from all the things we used to be
You breakaway because you can and I believe
I can make you stay even though I hide behind this wall
Breakaway you can … no, you can’t stop this man
From crawling back to you
But that’s not what I choose

No matter which way I go
I lose
I’m not crawling back to you
I say no
That’s not what I choose
No matter which way I go
I lose

I lose

So you breakaway from all the things we used to be
You breakaway because you can and I believe
I can make you stay even though I hide behind this wall
Breakaway you can … no, you can’t stop this man
From crawling back to you
But that’s not what I choose

I’m not crawling back to you
