BROKEN PROMISES - Written by Carroll Bryant
She’s always making promises
Making broken promises
You keep me up in the night
You’re always in my dreams
Lurking in the shadows and
chasing after me
I’m pulling out my hair
And I’m about to really
scream
You’re making me impaired
You’re nothing like you seem
Everyday I grow weary from
the thought of you
Anyway, I have better things
to do
Like making up a list of all
your promises
Your list of broken promises
You leave us hanging in the
air
A coin flip guessed by chance
Lounging in the lazy chair
and doing your dance
I’m about to leave from there
And I’m living in my trance
You’re masking me in my
despair
I can’t stand this
happenstance
Everyday I grow leery at the
sight of you
Anyway, your lies will never
come true
And neither will your
promises
Your stupid broken promises
Brake my heart
It’s about to crash
Break my heart
You’re a piece of trash
Brake my heart
I’m flying off the tracks
Break my heart
As a matter of fact you do
You kick me in the light of
day
So happy for my misery
Window shopping for a
guillotine
Slapping at my wits end
And now I know what it means
To myself I must extend
A mannequin or shouting spree
Everyday I grow weary from
the thought of you
Anyway, I have better things
to do
Like making up a list of all
your promises
Your list of broken promises
She’s always making promises
Making broken promises
Brake my heart
It’s about to crash
Break my heart
You’re a piece of trash
Brake my heart
I’m flying off the tracks
Break my heart
As a matter of fact it’s true
Everyday I grow leery at the
sight of you
Anyway, your lies will never
come true
And neither will your
promises
Your stupid broken promises
She’s always making promises
Making broken promises to me
