Shattered Glass

SHATTERED GLASS - Written by Carroll Bryant

When you look at that face in the mirror
Does it smile back at you?
Or are you afraid of your own reflection?
Does it tell you the lies that you know are true?

Every time I think of what I could be
Electricity goes through my veins
What I thought I saw I just didn't see
Electricity becomes the thing
That gets me through until the dawn
I'm not alone anymore
I found my heart
So, why do I cry?
Are they tears of joy?
Are they tears of slang?

Every time I dream of what I believe
Electricity runs through my bones
What I thought I knew and then later preconceived
Electricity becomes the thing
That gets me through until dawn
I'm not with you anymore
I lost my mind
So, why do I even try?
Is it just a habit?
Where is it leading me?

Shattered glass all around my feet
N'tho I step on it
I can't make it bleed
I'm not afraid of it or so you hear me say
Sometimes I just don't know exactly what I mean

When you look at that face in the mirror
Does it smile back at you?
Or are you afraid of your own reflection?
Does it tell you the lies that you know are true?

Shattered glass all around my feet
N'tho I walk right through it
I still can't believe
My soul keeps searching the night
To find the day
Sometimes I just don't know exactly what I need

Every time I think of what I could dream
Electricity travels to my brain
What I thought I heard you say wasn't what I thought to think
That electricity becomes again
That gets me through until dawn
I'm not alone anymore
I found my heart
So, why do I cry?
Are they tears of joy?
Are they tears of slang?

Shattered glass all around my feet
Noises in the dark and I can't see
Air in my lungs and still I can't breathe
I'm not afraid of it

When you look at that face in the mirror
Is it smiling back at you?
Can you recognize the feeling?
