Scavenger

SCAVENGER - Written by Carroll Bryant

I’m a scavenger of love
I’m a scavenger of life
When push comes to shove
I can feel the knife
I can’t get enough
I just can’t get it right
All that I touch falls right out of sight

I feed off everything that’s left from what a
Broken heart can bring
I have to take what’s left
Just second best
Forget about anything

I’m a scavenger of hate
I’m a scavenger true
I can’t simulate a solitary thing with you
I cannot forget
I cannot reclaim
All that can break falls right into two

I feed off anything that’s left from what a
Sacred soul can’t bring
I have to take what’s best
A written test
Forget about everything

Forget about anything

We were in line, ready to check out
Sharing our thoughts like we knew what it was all about
We didn’t even yell
We didn’t even scream
We were living a bad dream

We were dealing with a bad thing

I’m a scavenger of promise
I’m a scavenger of pain
When the day gets lost, I might stipulate
I can’t back down
I just can’t stand up
All that it costs simply takes the cake

I feed off everything that’s left from what a
Broken heart can bring
I have to take what’s left
It’s such a mess
Forget about anything

I feed off anything that’s left from what a
Sacred soul can’t bring
I have to take what’s best
Like all the rest
Forget about everything

Forget about anything

Forget about everything

Forget about it
