GRAFFITI HEARTS - Written by Carroll Bryant
We keep running this race
Somehow we got it in our heads
We got to finish in first place
With a finger on the trigger
We are prepared to eliminate
The prophets spread the word
Somehow we got too busy in our lives
And I don't think that we heard
How can it be we multiply our pain?
In a world we invented and intended to be sweet
Somehow I tend to start believing that I don't agree
This isn't the way your king intended for it to be
And then at times I get my doubts
Is he even watching us at all?
You have to die in order to get out
Meanwhile, they watch you crawl
I still can't figure out how to solve this crazy case
Have you ever held the hand of god?
Have you ever seen his face?
Sometimes I think that we're all insane
On the verge of breaking down
And the air that we breathe is a game
Where the objective is "Don't you dare make a sound"
In our hand, the book
We keep turning the pages
Reading what we already read
And I think that is a shame
From our very own guidance, we're already dead
Then at times I get so crazy
Does he even really care at all?
And how can I expect to get even
If the writing isn't on the wall
I still can't figure out how to leave without a trace
Have you ever held the hand of god?
Have you ever seen his face?
Are we having too much of a good time?
Such a good time we easily disregard
Can we change what we can't learn?
And can we do it without graffiti hearts?
Are we getting too much of a good thing?
Such a good thing we try too hard
Can we save what we can't earn?
Or are we playing with a stacked deck of cards?
Can we do it without graffiti hearts?
We keep running this race
Somehow we got it in our heads
We got to finish in first place
With a finger on the trigger
We are prepared to eliminate
And then at times I get my doubts
Is he even watching us at all?
You have to die in order to get out
Meanwhile, they watch you crawl
I still can't figure out how to solve this crazy case
Have you ever held the hand of god?
Have you ever seen his face?
Have you ever held the hand of god?
Have you ever really seen his face?
