Probation

PROBATION - Written by Carroll Bryant

I was raised on the streets
And I know what fighting for survival means
Love in the city ain't cheap
It can cost you a heart and tear you apart

I'm on probation for killing a love
There just came a time when I had enough
I'm on probation for emotional junk
Love doesn't last forever and it's time the girl grew up

I'm not as cold as it may seem
But life is for real and she lives in a dream
People never say what they mean
But if you don't have a soul then why let them know?

I'm on probation for killing a love
There just came a time when I had enough
I'm on probation for emotional junk
Love doesn't last forever and it's time the girl grew up

It would seem I committed a passionate crime
I used sex as a weapon and my words were just lies
The same thing was done to me
Now I do it to you
You'll never understand the sting
If you can't ever forgive the truth
Oh, girl
How blind can a young person be?
Oh, girl
How many times do you think you will scream?

Pay it forward

I was raised on the streets
And I know what fighting for survival means
Love in the city ain't cheap
It can cost you a heart and tear you apart

I'm on probation for killing a love
There just came a time when I had enough
I'm on probation for emotional junk
Love doesn't last forever and it's time the girl grew up
