Not Afraid

NOT AFRAID - Written by Carroll Bryant

I can't face the night alone
Sounds of silence destroys my soul
Pretty stranger would you take me home?

Silent footsteps walking through my door
It's a monster that I so adore
Taking me away for evermore

The devil looked inside my eyes tonight
I spit on his face by sheer surprise
I lie awake until the sun will rise
I am not afraid
No, I am not afraid anymore
I am not afraid
I don't care what you might say
I am not afraid

My thoughts go surfing upon a sea
A wave has come to carry me
Hands are reaching from the deep

I fight to open up my eyes again
I look everywhere but there's no friend
Which is worse to ascend or descend?

The devil looked inside my eyes tonight
I slap his face with all of my might
I lie awake until I realize
That I am not afraid
No, I am not afraid anymore
I am not afraid
I don't care what you might say
I am not afraid

Turn my back on the world today
And what do I get? A memory I can't forget
Turn my back on my fellow man
And I will be human once again
Inflicting pain on all of them

I might walk away
Watch me
Just watch me
But I am still not afraid
Dare me
I don't care
I don't care what you might say
This is my time
This is my day
And I am not afraid

No, I don't care what you think or what you even might say
But I am not afraid
