Hear You Smile

HEAR YOU SMILE - Written by Carroll Bryant

Every beginning
Has to have some kind of fateful end
You start off life by winning
Only a good loser has to pretend

You can’t grow if you don’t fall
Pick yourself up and run for it all
You can’t slow down
You can’t speed up
You can’t slow down

I can hear you smile
I can see your fears
I can feel your pain
I can taste your tears
I can eat the wind that you leave behind
I can lose the secrets that you’re dying to find
I can hold your dreams
I can steal your screams
I can hear you smile

Looking like the devil
Hiding that little shit eating grin
When the world stops being level
You find a different road that you can condemn

You won’t tan if you don’t sun
Swagger down a path that hasn’t a pun
You can’t burn out
You can’t ignite
You can’t burn out

I can hear you smile
I can see your fears
I can feel your pain
I can taste your tears
I can eat the wind that you leave behind
I can lose the secrets that you’re dying to find
I can hold your dreams
I can steal your screams
I can hear you smile

There is no explanation
To all of the things you try to be
I need an exclamation
To put behind you and right before me

Every classic ending
Has to have a place where you can start
You play it like you see it
Good intentions will break the heart

You can’t grow if you don’t fall
Pick yourself up and run for it all
You can’t slow down
You can’t speed up
You can’t slow down

You won’t listen

I can hear you smile
I can see your fears
I can feel your pain
I can taste your tears
I can eat the wind that you leave behind
I can lose the secrets that you’re dying to find
I can hold your dreams
I can steal your screams
I can hear you smile

I can see your fears
I can taste your tears
I can hear you smile

I can hold your dreams
I can steal your screams
I can hear you smile
