Rue The Day

RUE THE DAY - Written by Carroll Bryant

I’m nothing to you but a memory souvenir
Something you can cling to in the heat of your fears
Living with such a deplorable mind
How is that you can even sleep at night?

But I guess liars need their rest too

I was riding down the highway in the middle of my life
Missing all the signs as they went flying by
Heading for nowhere in a nightmarish dream
You went and put your spell on me

Everybody plays the fool

You’re gonna rue the day when you broke my heart
You’re gonna rue the day you tore it apart
I’m gonna find a way to make a new start
With the eyes of a lonely face
Girl, you’re gonna rue the day

Sweet little innocent devil in disguise
I’m tired of your excuses and I’m tired of your lies
Living in a world of nothing but pretend
You live in a sequence of invisible friends

But I guess haters are people too

You think you’re all this and you think you’re all that
I think you’ve been smoking way too much crack
A heartless little bitch who is cold to the core
A slut turned a nasty whore

This is your only truth

You’re gonna rue the day when you broke my heart
You’re gonna rue the day you tore it apart
I’m gonna find a way to make a new start
With the eyes of a lonely face
Girl, you’re gonna rue the day

I’m nothing to you but a memory souvenir
Something you can cling to in the heat of your fears
But I guess that’s all anybody could expect from you

There’s a reason why HE doesn’t want you

You’re gonna rue the day when you broke my heart
You’re gonna rue the day you tore it apart
I’m gonna find a way to make a new start
With the eyes of a lonely face
Girl, you’re gonna rue the day
