No Escape

NO ESCAPE - Written by Carroll Bryant

This is it
This is the end of all our dreams
As I watch you pack your bags
And you walk right out on me

Hit or miss
I guess it’s really just all the same
You get in your car
There’s an ache in my heart
I guess it’s how we’re gonna play this game

And no, there’s no escaping what we had
When you cry the tears for all those happy years
They really weren’t all that bad
And so, we can both take credit now
For a job undone
For a song unsung
And the way that it all went down

And no, there’s no escaping that

There it is
Our story in an old nut shell
As my world falls down on me
I can see the end so well

Giving in
To a notion that it’s all worth while
I get to the part
Where your car won’t start
But then you go and walk a country mile

And no, there’s no escaping what we had
When you cry the tears for all those happy years
They really weren’t all that bad
And so, we can both take credit now
For a job undone
For a song unsung
And the way that it all went down

And no, there’s no escaping that

I look at you
You look at me
In our eyes we both can see
That everything is going to change

I look up
You look away
Fancy that, no words to say
And everything is going to change

This is it
This is the end of all our dreams
As I watch you pack your bags
And you walk right out on me

And no, there’s no escaping what we had
When you cry the tears for all those happy years
They really weren’t all that bad
And so, we can both take credit now
For a job undone
For a song unsung
And the way that it all went down

And no, there’s no escaping what we had
When you cry the tears for all those happy years
They really weren’t all that bad
And so, we can both take credit now
For a job undone
For a song unsung
And the way that it all went down

And no, oh no, there’s no escaping that
