The Sting

THE STING - Written by Carroll Bryant

It’s been exasperating
Relationships can take a lot out of you
It’s not that I’m complaining
Even though sometimes I think I do

It’s been exhilarating
Despite knowing that you’re facing the end
Sure enough you know it’s raining
But the sun will pop back out again

It always seems to start with promises in the dark
Amnesia ensues with the light of the day

Then it all comes crashing down
And you lay there on the ground
Trying to analyze every single thing
So then it all just falls apart
And you can feel it in your heart
Dealing with the pain and suffering

Then you feel the sting

It’s now excruciating
Memories can take time to fade
So far you feel like fainting
From losing everything you made

It’s now perpetuating
Emotions that don’t seem to heal
Your soul’s evacuating
Everything you used to feel

There always seems to be something that she can’t see
Euphoria arrives a day too late

Then it all comes crashing down
And you lay there on the ground
Trying to analyze every single thing
So then it all just falls apart
And you can feel it in your heart
Dealing with the pain and suffering

Then you feel the sting

It always seems to end as enemies and never friends
The result of never having anything more to say

Then it all comes crashing down
And you lay there on the ground
Trying to analyze every single thing
So then it all just falls apart
And you can feel it in your heart
Dealing with the pain and suffering

Then it all comes back to you
Always racing to find the proof
Pieces of the puzzle can’t fit or anything
So then it all just disappears
You can feel it in the air
Dealing with the art of beggaring

Then you feel the sting

You can feel the sting
